My work with legal aid impresses upon me the importance of using a "reproductive justice" framework as we advocate for the many reprodutive issues we care about. Unfortunately the Legal Services Corporation prohibits me from engaging in abortion advocacy on behalf of our clients. However, I can still educate men and women about how get access to health care services, how to qualify for programs that include coverage for family planning, etc. This is extremely important work.

I think sometimes people are relucant to use a "moral" framework because those who support legal abortion are accused of not having morals. I can't tell you how tiring it is to constantly be judged by my friends who claim moral superiority over me. However, I strongly agree that there is a connection between reproductive justice and religious freedom (Professor Alan Brownstein from UC Davis School of Law may have some writings on point).
